Clipzy ("we", "our", "us") operates the Clipzy mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture (if signing in via Google or Apple).

Content You Upload: Videos, images, and audio files you upload to create and edit projects.

Usage Data: We collect analytics data including pages visited, features used, device type, operating system, and app version to improve the Service.

Payment Information: Payment details are processed by the native app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) or Stripe (web), mediated by RevenueCat. We never see or store your card numbers or bank account details.

Device Information: Push notification tokens, device identifiers, and platform information to deliver notifications.

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
To process your video creation and rendering requests
To manage your account and deliver customer support
To process payments and credit transactions
To send push notifications about render completion and scheduled posts
To publish content to your connected social media accounts on your behalf

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect data:

Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: For authentication. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
RevenueCat: For in-app purchase entitlements and receipts (RevenueCat Privacy Policy).
Apple / Google / Stripe: For processing payments (their respective privacy policies apply).
Cloudflare R2: For storing uploaded media and rendered videos.
OpenAI Whisper API: For speech-to-text transcription when you use auto-captions. Audio data is sent to OpenAI for processing.
Sentry: For error tracking and crash reporting.
PostHog: For product analytics.
YouTube / Instagram / Facebook APIs: For publishing content to your connected social accounts. We only access these services with your explicit authorization.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored on servers located in Germany (Hetzner Cloud) and globally via Cloudflare's network. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded media and rendered videos may be automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

With third-party service providers as described above, solely for operating the Service
When required by law or to respond to legal process
To protect the rights and safety of our users and the public

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings
Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
Export your data in a portable format
Withdraw consent for optional data processing (e.g., analytics) at any time
Disconnect social media accounts at any time through the app

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), password hashing (bcrypt), and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, by sending a notification through the app.
